LITTLE HAPPY THINGS NO. 18

:: My Etsy shop has picked up this week! I’ve had a bunch of custom orders and several print orders! I think I live at the post office sometimes, but it’s awesome! I’ll have one more shipping day before we go on vacation, so if there’s one you’ve got your eye on one, you’ll get it shipped out before I leave. My shop will still be open, just shipping times might be a little slower. And if you’re local, I’ll refund the shipping charge and we can meet up!

:: A mini shopping spree, everything on sale! I needed a new bag for the trip, and wound up with a pair of sunglasses, a neon scarf, a neon shirt and a new wallet. Oh, and the bag I was after! I haven’t saved up money to do that for a while, and while I didn’t spend a ton, I had a good time picking everything out!

:: The boys counting down the days until we go to Nana & Pop-pop’s house…every morning, the first question they ask is when we’re leaving.

:: The She Reads Truth study on Nehemiah is really good, and I’m really enjoying it. :)

:: Plans and hopes and dreams. :)

BRUSH YOUR TEETH

We are teaching the boys how to brush their own teeth right now. For some reason, last night’s brushing session turned into a giggle-fest! Jackson started laughing hysterically and Derik quickly joined in…so of course I grabbed my camera. ;)

Don’t you love how kids can turn the smallest everyday thing into something fun? :)

LISTY LIST // TAKE ME AWAY

I love to travel; I’d love to visit all 50 states someday! And I have a dream that someday I can see some of Europe, especially Ireland and Paris, and I’d love to visit New Zealand one day! I think part of the lure of out-of-country travel is having a stamp in my passport…which I don’t have. One day, right? For now, my travel wishes are a lot more simple…I’d love to see more of California (so much I haven’t seen!), visit the Seattle and Portland area, and see more of the South! We’re heading to Delaware soon to visit my family, and here are some things I wish I could bring with me!

1// Merona Cover Up ($19.99) – It’s always nice to have something comfy to throw on after a trip to the beach…this one is so cute!

2// Anthro Construct Maxi Dress ($78) – This looks like the perfect travel dress. It takes 7 hours worth of flights to get back to Delaware, and being comfortable is key.

3// Skinny Stacking Rings ($11/1) – I am in love with stacking rings, and these are perfect.

4// Leather Ballet Flats ($75) – These soft leather ballet flats are gorgeous and look so comfy!

5// Initial Tags Necklace ($27) – I love Junghwa jewelry…saving up for this necklace from my Etsy sales so I can get my boys’ names stamped on it...I think this will definitely be my first piece of her jewelry but it's so hard to decide...it's all so gorgeous! :)

6// Handmade Leather Travel Bag ($159) – This bag. I’m currently looking for something to take on the plane that will hold all my junk…my laptop, camera, headphones, the boys’ snacks…this bag is gorgeous and looks like it would fit the bill! One day…

P.S. Switching Listy List day to Wednesday, and making the Inspired By posts a rotating feature. These are my favorite posts to make, so I’d like to make them a permanent feature!

OUR WEEKEND // RELAXED AND SIMPLE

We had a quiet Mother’s Day weekend, which is always nice. :) Luke worked Saturday so it wasn’t so much like the weekend. He did have to work Mother’s Day morning for a few hours, but he was able to come with us to see Ironman 3! We have a thing for movies…especially action and superhero movies! I’d rather see a good action movie than a chick flick most days. The boys keep asking everyone what their favorite part of the movie was, relaying the entire movie back to them, and acting it out.

The rest of the day we spent just relaxing, eating pizza with his family and watching more movies, and I started reading my Mother’s Day present, The Great Gatsby. I have a goal of reading lots of classic literature this year, and Luke knows books are always a good present. ;)

How was your Mother’s Day weekend?

LITTLE HAPPY THINGS NO. 17

Today’s Little Happy Things is a bit of a combo. I wanted to share some of my favorite posts from other bloggers about motherhood, since this weekend is mother’s day. :)

:: The long-anticipated giveaway is LIVE over at Mary Beth’s blog!

:: Forgotten toys turned into a three hour straight play time.

:: Nice neighbors. After years of living in apartments with only one set of nice neighbors for a three-month period, we have nice neighbors again! They’ve promised to keep an eye on our house and Alice while we’re in Delaware. We spent an hour talking over the fence last night about snake stories and her horse, and the boys told her about every movie we’ve seen in the last year or so. ;)

:: Lazy Saturdays with my boys. :)
