Back from Delaware...

We just got back from spending a week and a half in Delaware with my family. The only picture I managed to take the entire time we were there was of these Fractured Prune doughnuts which taste even better than they look! (Click on the photo for more about them.) If you DO want to see photos though, my parents managed to take their fair share, up on my mom's blog. We miss them all already and hopefully we'll see everyone again soon. =)
We're going away again this week, to Las Vegas for friends' wedding, as I'm doing the photography for them. Their wedding also happened to fall right on our wedding anniversary! Three years this year. =)
Hope you all are doing well, and I promise to get better about posting!
The Gym...

So I have determined that I am losing the baby weight. Once and for all. So I have joined a gym. I'm going three times a week and am currently VERY sore from doing the workout a trainer there gave me.
It has been hilarious to see some of the typical "gym stereotypes" though. The very first day I went, there was a VERY perky lady dancing on the elliptical. Yep, dancing. Her neighbors were a little annoyed because she kept flicking her arms into their space. She was even dancing in the locker room afterwards, nearly running a few people over, since she had her eyes closed.
Next is the bodybuilder girl complete with the 80s perm and sweatbands. She's a little intimidating...she can do situps hanging almost upside down and doesn't look like she even breaks a sweat.
Then there's the room full of tough-dude-weightlifters. I stay out of there. =P
And me. I belong to the trying-to-be-back-in-shape-mommies stereotype. ;) I am definitely NOT perky when I get on the elliptical, and regular situps are enough to make me sweat. But hopefully I'll wind up losing some weight and getting back into the shape I used to be in. And the closet full of pre-kiddo clothes I have. ;)
Jackson's Birthday Party

We celebrated Jack's birthday with Luke's family on Thursday - pizza, cake and ice cream. That's pretty much every little boy's dream, in case you were wondering.
He got a football, soccer ball, basketball and baseball for his birthday. They were a big hit. ;)
Look at the concentration, waiting for cake!
And a photo that's not from the party but from the other night - and it's of Jack so it goes. ;) The neighbors at Luke's parents gave the boys a big cowboy hat and Jack walked around with it on for a while.
Jackson - Victorville, CA Photo Session!

Jack got a photo session on his birthday too, but unlike Derik he wasn't quite as cooperative. ;) I figured I wouldn't torture him too much on his birthday, and snapped just enough. He is getting so big, and so handsome! =)
This is what little boys who don't like getting their picture taken look like:
And a happier Jack-a-roo:
Happy Birthday Jackson!

Today was Jackson's 2nd birthday! Somehow I am finding this really difficult to believe! I did manage to get some pictures of him today that I'll get up in the next day or so, but he wasn't nearly as cooperative as Derik. ;) I think he's related to Luke.
He has gotten so funny lately. He blames everything on Derik: "Der [incoherent baby babble] books..." which, roughly translated, is "DERIK was the one that got into the books!" He loves Derik to death, and has to make sure Derik is safe and Derik has everything he needs. His favorite foods are peanut butter sandwiches and cookies. He loves to watch Luke play Madden football on the Xbox and tells me "Daay uh-ball!" ("Daddy football) when he's watching Luke play. His favorite things to do are eat, play with balls and cars and find his shoes ("sooos") so we can "go." And he just figured out that waving is for "Bye" as well as "Hi." =)
Happy birthday, sweet boy. =)
